About Kowari
Software used to wait for a human. Agents don’t.
An autonomous agent issues the refund, sends the email, moves the money. By the time the decision reaches a log, it already happened. Kowari is the layer that watches each one as it’s made, and stops the ones that cross a line.
The contract changed.
For thirty years, production software did what it was told and waited. A person clicked approve. Agents broke that contract. They plan, call tools, and act on their own, thousands of times an hour, against real customer data and real money.
The blast radius of one bad decision moved with them, from a logged warning nobody read to a card that got charged. The tooling did not move. Most teams still watch agents the way they watched a cron job: dashboards, sampled logs, and a pager that goes off after the fact.
So teams shipping agents end up hand-rolling the same plumbing: a way to see what an agent actually did, a way to stop it mid-action, a way to put yesterday’s version back. None of it is their product, and everyone rebuilds it badly. Kowari is that layer, built once.
How we build it
Observe everything, sample nothing
A trace you can replay beats a metric you can't. Every run keeps its full plan, arguments, and decisions, not a 1% sample.
Hold, don't hope
A policy that blocks an action before it reaches a customer is worth more than an alert that describes one after it shipped.
Reversible by default
Every deploy keeps its predecessor one command away. Putting a known-good agent back should take seconds, not a war room.
Why a kowari?
The kowari is a small carnivorous marsupial from the dry country of central Australia. It spends most of its time still and watching, then moves the instant something else does.
That is the job we built the company around: watch quietly, and act the moment a decision steps out of line. The brush tip of its tail is where our orange comes from.
